Style Challenge No.6

Hello all! Sorry for not getting the new challenge up yesterday, I'm having internet issues. Anyway, here we are today with a wonderful new challenge! With the final weekend of summer fast approaching I thought we would jump right into fall this week. Fall is my favorite time of year. Not only do we usually get our best weather this time of year, but all the colors begin to change and everything is beautiful. So this week, I want to see your most beautiful fall creations! No Halloween though. Here are a couple of inspiration pics and my tag which is also going to be part of an upcoming class!

For this tag I used the Tim Holtz "Thankful Silhouettes" stamp set and matching embossing folder, as well as the Tattered Leaves die, Distress Stains, Perfect Pearls Mist and kraft glassine paper.

How pretty are these leaves!

Since I was running late this week I'm going to extend the deadline for submissions until Saturday night and featured creations will be posted with next weeks challenge. Thanks for stopping by today!

Happy Saturday!

I hope you are all enjoying one of the last weekends of summer. It's a busy time of year in our household. The boys are both in sports and about to start school and my youngest has a birthday coming up. When you add teaching classes and all our other day to day stuff it makes for a very hectic life. So getting on here and seeing the fabulous creations you all make is a wonderful break for me. This week I have 2 entries to share from the Sunday Style challenge. They belong to Natalie and Saundra, 2 of the best crafting buddies a girl could ask for! Saun has a super cute sock monkey card and Natalie has once again showcased her amazing coloring abilities on her adorable card. Thanks for participating ladies!

I will have anther Style Challenge up for you tomorrow after the football game. Thanks for stopping by and see you then!

Tag You're It! #1

Hello all my fabulous followers! I hope your week is going smoothly. Today I wanted to share the examples for my next class. I'm really excited about this one because it's my first time doing this type of a class. It's going to be a series of tags using some Tim Holtz techniques I learned in the Creative Chemistry online class I took, as well as a few others I've learned in my online adventures. The first class is 2 tags, one using the shattered stains technique and one using the gilded glassine technique.

Here is the gilded glassine tag

The flowers are made using the kraft glassine paper, alcohol inks and embossing folders

The background was done with distress inks and some of the Tim Holtz stamps

And this is the shattered stains tag

The heart, wings and crown are cut from grunge board, then covered with Rock Candy crackle paint and the Distress Stains

The background is again Distress Inks and Tim Holtz stamps. The little ruffle along the bottom is made from tissue tape that I pleated.

The class is at Scrapper's Edge on September 5th and is $15. I will be sharing more samples later. So far I have 4 classes ready to go. Thanks for stopping by today!

Sunday Style Challenge No.5

I hope you all enjoyed the weekend. We spent the day today at my youngest's first football jamboree. So many kids and parents and people, it was a little crazy. Now it's time to relax and bring you the next Sunday Style challenge. This week's challenge is a card only challenge and the theme is kid's birthdays! There are no set colors or other requirements for this challenge, I just want to see your best birthday cards for kids. Here is an inspiration pic that I found on the Photo Card Boutique website. This is another great website for color inspiration. Below that I have 3 fun kids cards I made with the KaiserCraft Party Animals Collection.

You have until next Friday at midnight to get your card submitted. Just leave your link below using the inlinkz button. Can't wait to see your creations this week. Thanks for stopping by!

Wednesday Cards

Hello all! Just a quick post to share a couple of cards with you. It's been a busy busy week. Both boys are in sports now so we are constantly on the go. The first card is a slightly different version of the one for the Sunday Style Challenge. The papers are an old Basic Grey collection. The honeycomb stamp is from a Tim Holtz set.

The second card also has papers from Basic Grey. I cut out the bee tiles and popped them up with foam dots. The leaves for the flowers are actually some green flowers that I cut apart. The sentiment is from a really cute set by TPC Studios.

I hope your week is going well and I'm looking forward to seeing your entries for the Sunday Style Challenge. You don't need a blog to play, just upload your project to any online gallery and submit the link to it. Thanks for stopping by today!

Happy Monday!

Hi everyone! I'm going to skip the Pinterest thing today to share a few pics with you. First I wanted to share my Hero Arts prize pack that I got in the mail todayfrom Two Peas In A Bucket. I was so excited to get this. It had 3 neon inks, 2 wood stamps, 2 background stamps and 4 clear stamp sets. They even sent me the sample card which is really cute!

My friend and her little girl stayed a couple of days with us last week and we had a lot of fun. The boys are super god with her since she's only 3. She even suckered my oldest into doing stuff for her with her pouty face, it was hilarious. Anyway, I got some really cute pics of them blowing bubbles in the backyard and thought I would share a few.

This is Bethany (B) and my youngest Brayden

Even the big kid (Dillon) had fun

 Silly boy!

 This is my favorite
These are some I had fun with in Picasa

B was so cute chasing the bubbles. She kept telling them, "Come back bubbles, come back!"

Thanks for letting me share some family stuff with you today. Don't forget about the new Sunday Style Challenge. Have a great Monday!
